Nodaiwa has history of more than 200 years. It has 3 branches in Tokyo.
The restaurant is small and of traditional Japanese style.
Rice is fully covered by sauce and eel which is in very attractive colour.
A more delicious closer look.

Japanese
roasted eel rice is always my favorite. I am lucky to find this
specialty restaurant of more than one hundred years history in Tokyo. It
is one of the most famous restaurants to serve 「roasted eel rice」. From
April to December every year, the eels are from wild river in Japan.
Other than this period, eels will be replaced by those fed. This is
explicitly notified to customers in the menu and on chopsticks cover.
I
ordered a combo of roasted eel rice, including a box of rice fully
covered by roasted eel and sauce, a soup of eel internal organs,
granulated white carrot in sauce of light taste, and a small plate of
Japanese salad. The bill is Yen3,003 (Yen2,600 x 10% service + 5% tax).
The eel meat is not so thick as those I eat in Hong Kong. Since Eel
lives in the natural environment, its meat has a stronger taste and will
not have too much fat. Eel sauce is in sufficient amount and very
tasty. In addition, eel and rice are hot and are ready for eating. This
is a too delectable roasted eel rice.
There
are only 6 tables, serving totally 14 persons. It is better to arrive
at the restaurant before 1130, otherwise, you have to wait for at least
30 minutes. Please be reminded that it takes about 20 minutes for food
preparation.
Restaurant
decoration is of typical traditional Japanese style. Waitresses are
dressed in Kimono (traditional Japanese clothing). Service is very good.
Price of eel combo set is nearly doubled those commonly available in
Tokyo. Japanese roasted eel is my favorite, I of course would try again
next time and recommend to you.
