Vegetarian Lunch Set is served on Sundays. This is the portion (4 dishes, 1 soup, 1 congee and 1 rice) for two persons.
Fried Eggplant w/ Brown Sauce (醬油茄子)
This
is a nutritive dish, as both eggplant and sesame are rich in minerals
and vitamins. The taste is quite good and the brown sauce can enhance
overall taste of this dish. But I do not like this dish very much since
eggplant will absorb considerable amount of oil if it is fried in oil.
Fried Spring Roll & Beancurd Sheet (炸春捲腐皮)
This is a bit oily. Maybe, before it is taken away from the oil in the wok, the oil temperature is not high enough.
Choi Sum w/ Two Pieces of Mushroom (菜心冬菇)
Choi Sum is naturally sweet and the sauce / soup is not salty.
Fried Cucumber, Beancurd Sheet, Sausage, Chicken and Black Fungus
It is a standard vegetarian dish and it is not special. But it is a delicious one. I like it.
Today Soup (木瓜雜豆湯)
It should have been boiled for two hours. If not, the colour and
flavour will be so. Food materials include bean, papaya and many others.
Soup, plain rice congee and plain rice are served in unlimited supply.
Pu'er
Tea (普洱茶) is made from high quality Pu'er tea leaves
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pu-erh_tea . It is more concentrated and
darker in colour. Tea is of course decent and pleasing .

Remarks: -
This is a restaurant in Lo Hon Temple in Tung Chung. It is open to
public, serving followers and visitors. We are visitors and would like to try
its vegetarian meal. Though the temple is not so splendid as Po Lin Monastery
in appearance and other aspects, this Lo Hon Temple does give us a peaceful
feeling.
After we are seated, all dishes and soup will be served gradually. What
we need to do is to take our own portion of rice and plain rice congee by
ourselves. I am so sorry to comment that the vegetarian meal in Lo Hon Temple
is one of the best of its kind in Hong Kong, of course, in terms of food taste
and freshness. You should have a try one day.
