Hainanese
Chicken Rice $35 is served with a clear chicken soup and three special
sauces. The rice soaked with garlic and chicken soup has a very good
taste and is not oily. But the chicken is a frozen one. The chicken meat
is not hot (still cold) when it is served. The price can be set higher
from $35 to $50, if the chicken is changed to a fresh one. Overall taste
(particularly the rice) is even better than that of Victory Restaurant,
but at a cheaper price.
Sambal Fish (Spicy Fish) $60 is quite
large in size (~10 inches) and is cooked with onion, egg plant, chili,
prawn sauce and coconut sauce. Photo in the menu is half portion only.
When it is served, it is the whole fish. We are quite surprised and
query whether they would charge us double price. The fish is a frozen
one, but the meat is not fishy.
Fried Rice Vermicelli in Singapore Style $35 would be better if the rice vermicelli is a bit drier.

It
is heard that Hainanese chicken rice is very delicious in Good Satay
and we would like to try it for a period. Tonight, we decide to have a
try. Good Satay is located at the first floor of Houston Centre.
Strictly speaking, there should be no customers in the whole shopping
center, except the diners of Good Satay and another Chinese restaurant.
The
decoration of Good Satay is just like a normal Cha Chaan Teng. It also
gives you a not-comfortable feeling. Of course, we have no choice if we
want to try the food. There are not many selections in the menu. We
order Hainanese Chicken Rice $35, Sambal Fish (Spicy Fish) $60 and Fried
Rice Vermicelli in Singapore Style $35. The bill is $143 (average per
head $73).
Basically, there is no need to expect its service, it
is anyway a small restaurant only. Overall taste is above average. If
the price is taken into consideration, it should be evaluated higher
(higher than 3.5/5).
