signature items. Appearance is attractive; this is a new combination of
western dessert in Chinese cuisine.
Steam Belly Pork and Mui Choy
(preserved vegetable) are good partners and not salty. We have never
come across such combination in other restaurants.
The Starter - Thousand Year Egg and Ginger. $8
We
order "Stir Fried Smoke Duck Breast with Green Bamboo in XO Sauce, XO
醬窩筍炒煙鴨胸 $78" because we do not know what green bamboo is. Overall is
good, and it is quite special to cook smoke duck meat and green bamboo
together.
Megan's Kitchen Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Dried
Seafood 美味廚海味雜菜煲 $78 is not too special, but we sense that not large
amount of MSG has been added. Cuttlefish and dried shrimp greatly
enhance the overall taste.

When
we arrive at Megan's Kitchen, it gives us a roomy and comfortable
feeling. Tables are not densely aligned and we are allotted to a bench
table, which should be for 6 persons. After a while, we have a
not-so-good feeling, as there are waitresses and waiters to take care of
us. They would politely introduce how good the seafood is. We think
that with their such service, we should order more in order to increase
the average spending. The restaurant is not full tonight. When we ask
for the reason, the captain said the peak season would start from
September.
We order totally 3 items, namely "Stir Fried Smoke
Duck Breast with Green Bamboo in XO Sauce, XO 醬窩筍炒煙鴨胸 $78", "Megan's
Kitchen Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Dried Seafood 美味廚海味雜菜煲 $78" and
"Steam Belly Pork with Mui Choy & Soufflé 梳乎厘梅菜肉扣 $78". The bill is
$299 (average per head $150). Maybe, in order to leave us a good
memory, they serve today soup and dessert at free. Such items are priced
at $10 each. We save up $44 ($10 x 4 x 1.1) in this meal.
Food
is not oily and of very high quality. Though we only order 3 items,
their service is still warm. In fact, their service is a bit too
hospitable and sometimes becomes a disturbance (sorry for such comment).
Megan's Kitchen would retain popular dishes and introduce new ones
regularly, and is worthwhile to visit again.
