This
restaurant (1/F) is easily accessible by underground. Last year, I
tried a Tanpopo (Yen 1,800). It is an egg omelet on rice cooked with
tomato sauce, mushroom and sliced chicken meat. It is really the
best-fried rice I ever tried, and is unforgettable.
This
year, I visit again but in lunchtime, and found that there are lunch
sets of Yen 800 only. The portion is not big, and quite a lot of office
ladies have ordered such lunch sets. Normally the set lunch includes
soup, salad, a plate of plain white rice and a plate of meat with sauce. I order
the lunch set without salad and soup. Sliced pork meat in ginger and
soya sauce is cooked with onion, green and red peppers.
I guess all other lunch sets are also delicious. This is the main
reason I specially arrange to lunch here again. Next time, I would visit
this restaurant at night. Maybe, the cuisines would be a bit different.
FYI, Taimeiken was ranked the NO.1 restaurant of rice in Tokyo in a survey launched in April 2005, and was founded in 1933.
