It
takes 30 minutes to prepare “Eel Rice in Clay Pot RMB38”. Rice, chopped
eel, green onion and soy sauce match perfectly. If this pot of eel rice
were ordered in Hong Kong, the restaurant would price it at more than
$130. We value this rice very high.
There is a big difference between the photo in poster and the one we
are served (mainly because there are only small amount of chopped eel in
the pot), but we did have no complain thereafter (because the rice is
really tasty).
Soup of Pig Lung, Dried Scallop with Green Olive RMB68. It is the
first time to try soup with taste of green olive. Overall taste is good.
It should have been stewed for several hours.
One thing to complain is that there is no trace of dried scallop in the whole bowl of soup.
Xin Tai Le Restaurant is easy to locate in Tian He II Road South. Its outlook is a typical ordinary restaurant in the Mainland.

Further
to the lunch 1st round in Bing Sheng Restaurant, we really need to have
delicious rice to complete the lunch. We then think of Xin Tai Le
(XTL). For eel eating in Guangzhou, no other restaurants should be
better than XTL. XTL is claimed to be the specialty of eel cuisines in Guangzhou. Signature
dishes include Yellow Eel Rice, Chill Eel, and Cha Siu (BBQ Pork).
Since
we have tried Chill Eel in Hong Kong, we only order Eel Rice RMB38 and
“Soup of Pig Lung, Dried Scallop with Green Olive RMB68”. The bill is
RMB110. These two items are of high quality. Next time, we need to try more other dishes and see whether dishes other than eel are also tasty.
