Pan-fried Stuffed Eggplant, Beancurd & Green Bell Pepper is
commonly available. Because of the sauce (preserved black bean and
garlic mash), it is much better in taste than those commonly available.
Steamed Shrimp with Garlic Mash. The prerequisite for the meat to be
bouncy is that the shrimps must be fresh. These shrimps are bouncy.
Fried Solen Strictus w/ Preserved Black Bean & Red Pepper
Chicken with Ginger & Green Onion. The chicken is surely fresh and
is very yummy. Chicken is an item nearly ordered by each table.
'Fried
Sparerib in Sweet & Sour Sauce' is not so tasty as praised by the
lady boss. I do not think that it should be the signature dish in Fook
Loy Gui Restaurant. There are some restaurants that can cook in very
much better quality. It is not poor in quality anyway and appearance is good, but it is not worthwhile to order.
'Fried Noodle in Soy Sauce' is only a bit above average this time. It
is not hot enough and does not deserve to be the signature dish this
time.

available today. This is why the exact price of each dish is unknown
(we have not checked the bill).
2) Free today soup and fruit platter are served at free.
3) You would be a fool if you expect hospitable service here, but it is still acceptable to us.
4) Various kinds of seafood are served.
Fook Loy Gui Restaurant serves palatable Guangdong cuisine in
reasonable price and has local style decoration. It is a good suggestion
for visitors who would like to experience a delicious night.
We
have several persons tonight; it is therefore better to try in Fook Loy
Gui (FLG) in Prince Edward. We have made no booking as we arrive FLG in
the evening. We are allotted a table in the main restaurant (as there
is one in the opposite). Interior decoration is an example of old style local Chinese restaurant. Anyhow, hygiene is quite good.
We
order 8 dishes and beer; the bill is $760 (average per head $110). It
is really not an expensive dinner, in view of food quality, variety and
portion. Food taste can still be maintained, so is the service level (It
is
quite different from that in Sang Kee - Wanchai. In Sang Kee, they have
a poor facial expression, ie bad face, and look down on non-frequent
diners). Comparatively, FLG is much better than quite a lot of Chinese
or chained restaurants . You are suggested to dine with more persons in FLG in your next try.
