Fried Glutinous Rice with Preserved Meats is not oily and salty. We really appreciate the chef to fry glutinous rice in wok for a long period of time. It deserves to be one of the signature items in New Chi Kee. It is a must order item in every table.

Fried Pork in Sweet & Sour Sauce is very good in quality in terms of meat texture, appropriateness of sweet & sour sauce, and timing of deep-frying in oil. This is the result of sophisticated cooking skill. We cannot expect more and what else we should expect.

Steamed White-blotched Grouper is fresh and quite big in size. From the meat texture, it is a fish fed in Fish Spawning Grounds. This is acceptable and understandable. Soy sauce is surely tasty and enhances this dish a lot. Before this grouper is served. Fried Pork in Sweet & Sour Sauce (at the top left corner in the photo above) has been finished.

Spicy Tofu (Mapo Doufu) is very generous in portion and tastes good. It is not too spicy and therefore suitable for all.

New Chi Kee Seafood Restaurant (NCK) is a local restaurant of medium to small size, inside an old building. Strictly speaking, there should be no interior decoration at all. Tables are as usual densely aligned, to a point that it is quite disgusting . There is in fact no spacing among tables. Comfortable dining ambiance should also not be expected. Servers are mainly those of age over 50s. I do not think you should expect them to serve you with very good manner.

We order 4 dishes only; the bill is $420 (average per head $100). Since we are busily chatting with one another, we forget to order green vegetable. Overall quality and taste are above average, which can compensate the shortfalls mentioned before. We should support NCK and Fung Shing in Mongkok in the same extent.
