'Sashimi Salad' is served in a small glass bowl. It is unexpectedly
fresh. Together with vinegar & soy sauce, we like this first dish
very much.
Australian Grain-fed Baby Lamb Rack (served with 3 sauces) is very
juicy and tender. There is only a slight flavor of lamb special smell.
You are receommended to order if you are lamb lover.
'Oyster & Assorted Mushrooms w/ Spaghetti' is also a lovely dish.
The spaghetti is truly cooked to al dente texture. There are not more
than 4 pieces of medium sized oyster. Overall quality can be further
improved.

la umai is like a cool & beautiful girl stayed away from the crowd.
It situates on the 25th of a commercial building in Tin Hau. If we do
not pay attention, it is easily skipped. a la umai is a small restaurant
and can accommodate about 30 diners at the same time. There is a vip room serving about 10 persons.
a
la umai is different. Manager and servers are courteous and
professional. They know the time they should approach diners, and of
course would not lead to disturbance. They will also not push us to
order only the expensive dishes. What they want to get is
to create word of month. It seems that we are dining in a mini
restaurant in a 5 star hotel. Since there is no background music during
our enjoyment of the meal, if the restaurant is full house or if there
are disgusting diners nearby, the atmosphere may not be so pleasing.
We order 3 dishes only, sashimi salad, lamb rack and spaghetti. All of
them are palatable and of good quality, but have not yet attained an
impeccable level. We are looking forward to our next patron and trying
other impeccable dishes, if any.
