'Farm House Paradise' is small restaurant at one end of the Miao Village.
From another angle, it is still a house in the rural area / countryside.
Stir-fried Green Cucumber
'Braised River Fish w/ Tomato and Spring Onion' is not presentable.
But the fish meat is fresh and tender. It is a good companion with
tomato. In Guizhou, we deduce that dishes are always a bit sour.
'Soup of Tomato & Egg' is nutritive. To replenish sufficient
nutrient is needed no matter whether we are in Hong Kong or during
travelling.
Grains are grown in Miao Village. It is in good quality, chewy and
with the nice flavor of rice. It is a bit like Japanese rice.
A 'stupid' rice cooker
All tables and benches are wooden.
This is the typical house in Miao Village.
Some richer villagers would have 2 balconies in their house.
Farm House Paradise 農家樂園 Xijiang Miao Village, Lei Shan County, Guizhou, PRC. 中國貴州省雷山縣西江千戶苗寨 Tel: - Opening Hours: Daily Style: Guizhou Average spending: RMB20 Date: June 2009 Website: - Remarks: -
Before
we leave Miao Village, we need to eat something before another several
hours journey. This Farm House Paradise is closer to the station and is
quite good in appearance and interior. All tables and benches are
wooden. Natural ventilation in the restaurant is good, so is the dining environment.
We
order three dishes only, namely soup, braised fish and cucumber.
Basically, they should not care about food presentation. We do not care
food presentation too much provided the food is fresh enough and the
taste is not too horrible. Maybe, we do not
have much and high expectation, all three dishes are in the right
track. We can finish all dishes. One point to mention is that the rice
is quite chewy and is a bit like those rice from Japan. Miao Village
anyway is a place of growing grain.
In view of the average spending, we really should not have further
request on food material, taste and quality. It is nice to have this
dining happening in Farm House Paradise. We do appreciate the wooden
outlook and comfortable interior.
