'Steamed Fish w/ Preserved Black Bean & Garlic Paste' has not yet been overcooked.
From
the shape of fish meat, this is a fresh fish. There is a well-balance
of taste and each piece of meat has the nice flavor of preserved black
bean and garlic paste . It is a quality dish in Gui Yang and the price
is very reasonable.
'Stir-fried Cabbage w/ Garlic Paste' is not soft enough. We sense that there is a strong and typical flavor of msg.
'Claypot Rice of Chicken & Mushroom' is also a poor item. Rice and
chicken are not cooked together, no synergistic effect between rice and
chicken meat is resulted.
Moutai
Beer (RMB12). Moutai wine (not Moutai beer) had been used on official
occasions in feasts with foreign heads of state and distinguished guests
visiting China. It was the only alcoholic beverage presented as an
official gift by Chinese embassies in foreign countries and regions in the past.
We
have our dinner late at night today. It is not in our expectation
that in Guiyang quite a lot of eateries have no service after 2100,
including those restaurants in hotels. We are still lucky and able to
find Guang Wei Yuan, it is quite a large restaurant, serving dim sum, congee and other dishes.
We do not want to eat too much and are not hungry in fact, we order 3
items and beer only. Average spending is RMB75, this is also not an
affordable expense for most locals.
When
the steamed fish is served, it is very hot and looks delicious. Since
the river fish is fresh, we are very contented with the fish quality
(bouncy meat) and taste. This is the steamed fish standard we are
looking for. But for the
clay pot rice and fried vegetable, both are not ok and should be
failed. Together with the strong flavor of msg, we do not like the fried
vegetable. But we do not have much selection late at night, we finish
the meal within an hour.
