'Tim Ho Wan' is only a small dim sum restaurant. In time of lunch and dinner, to queue up is needed and inevitable.
This
is the signature 'Baked Cha Siu Bun', which is freshly baked and served
to us immediately. It is a very tasty item, there is no surplus sauce
inside the bun. Together with the super value price of $12 for 3 pieces,
it is a must to order and eat. FYI, the bun is cut by chopsticks.

Cha Siu Ricesheet Roll . The ricesheet is thin enough and slippery. Soy sauce is tasty too.
Steamed Sponge Cake
'Sweet Soup of Longan and Red Date' is not too sweet. This is the prerequisite of a good dessert (sweet soup) nowaday.
'Cake of Taro & Common Hawthorn' is very cold and should be taken out from fridge. The taste is good and concentrated.

'Tim
Ho Wan' should be quite popular during these several months. We would
like to have a try always. It is not easy to locate the shop if you are
not familiar with Mongkok. But we know our direction is correct as there
are quite a lot of persons waiting on the pavement. We wait for about 30 minutes
and a table is allotted to us. Inside the shop, we realize that i
enjoying dim sum in this shop, good dining environment should not be
expected.
Since
we do not know when we would dine again here, we order 9 dishes.
Average spending is about $70 (yes, about $70), which is very much lower
that the same meal in other Chinese restaurants. All items (except the
desserts) are
instantly prepared or steamed after we place the order. They are
therefore served in hot and the overall taste has been enhanced. I would
like to stress again that the taste of all items are superb, to an
extent that the level (food quality and taste)
is similar to those Chinese restaurants in 5 Star Hotel. Together with
the exceptional low average spending, to dine in Tim Ho Wan should be a
nice and tasty experience. What we have to sacrifice is to wait for an
unknown period of time before the meal.
