Fung
Yuen Butterfly Reserve is in Tai Po. It is the home to more than 180
butterfly species, including 50 rare breeds. Ecotours are offered at the
end of each month. Apart from driving, you may take minibus C20 or 20K
at Tai Po Station. Opening hours: 0915 - 1645 (Mon-Sun and general
holidays)
Fung Yuen is a spot not too far away from the urban
area. It is very suitable for those lazy guys, who have no physical
exercise regularly. No hiking is required.
There are different
kinds of butterfly and they stay in this reserve naturally, mainly
because of the plants they like. It is suggested to visit in autumn, you
should also have a nice day with butterfly in Fung Yuen.
It is not difficult to take photos of them.
They are obedient. Most of them would stay on leaf until you have taken photos of them. This is in fact a very small butterfly.
Sometimes, a butterfly is always surrounded by several photographers.
It is also a small one and not commonly found in the reserve.

Banana
and banana tree are the plant butterfly likes. Its favourable
environmental conditions and farming activities in the past provide an
excellent breeding environment for butterflies. /2009
