Tai Tong Lychee Valley
is in Yuen Long rural area and suitable for one day visit. For the
adults and youngsters, there are horse-riding, cycling and war game. The
children can feed goats and rabbits in the mini-zoo. There is also a
large goldfish pond. Besides, time can be spent on studying fruit trees,
as those in the following photos. Frankly speaking, we suggest to spend
at most two hours in the Lychee Valley.

About 15 minutes walk on the trail, we will arrive at Tai Tong Lychee Valley.

Though
it is called Lychee valley, there are in fact not too many Lychee
trees. Apart from Lychee, there are also other fruits and plants.

There are also not too many pieces of Longan (dragon eye) on the tree. Longan is available in July and August.

Jackfruits will be ripened in late August.

To
me, Garcinia Tinctoria (仁面, in Cantonese Yan Min) is like a sour plum.
In application to dishes, it is relatively common to be found in
'Steamed Pork w/ Garcinia Paste'.

Wax Apple is the most beautiful
fruit in Lychee Valley. The size is very much smaller than those
available in fruit market in Hong Kong and Bangkok. It is not sweet and
juicy enough.

Tangerine (桔) is still very young. It is a relative of orange, they are in the same family.
