Bak Kut King 肉骨皇 @ Tai Hang

Bat Kut Teh (Pork Bone Tea) is one of the best in Hong Kong. It is rich in flavour of traditional Chinese medicine. It is a delicous healthy soup, served with either rice or rice vermicelli, as below.

Fish cake is a bit spicy (to most diners). This Malaysian style fish cake is not so delicious as those local fish cakes in Hong Kong, IMO.

Black fungus and sea cucumber salad is served with a slightly sweet and soup sauce. It is a healthy, flavorful and delectable item.

Grilled Cockle is a very fresh bivalve, it is a must order item. We can sense the freshness in our tastebud.

Grilled Pamfret is an alluring fish when it is served. The chef grills it with heart and patience. Taste is good. Since the fish is not fresh enough, no matter how good the cooking skill is, it is only an average grilled fish.

Fried noodle with shrimp is of Malaysian flavour, it is fried with sightly sweet sauce. This noodle is for sure not oily. Shrimps are not fresh, this is expected. But we like this dish.

We visit Bat Kut King very late at night, there are not too many diners. We do not know the dining environment at dinnertime, but it is leisure, comfortable and not noisy during our visit. Bak Kut King should be operated by Malaysian, foods have not been localized to suit the taste of locals. We are pleased most items we ordered are delicious and of above average quality. Except the fish which is not fresh enough, we like all other items. We would visit again once chance arises.
