The
Red Grassland is a plateau's wetland and a scenic spot of Daocheng in
Sichuan Province of the PRC. Located adjacent to highway, it is famous
for its red grass in the wetland. The Red Grassland is in fact one of
the main attractions in Daocheng. Together
with the nice weather, trees, hills and water, it attracts quite a lot
of tourists and photographers. The best timing to visit is autumn. Apart
from autumn, it is only a normal grassland and has nothing special. The
best time in a day to take photo is morning, evening, or immediately after a small
shower. For your information, the Red Grassland is more than 2,500m
above sea level. Please ensure you have adapted to this height and do
not have high altitude syndrome.
To start with, bicycles are hired. It is also the beginning of a
three-hours journey. The weather is fine and there is no raining. Let's
go.
This is the asphalt road we ride on. There is not much trafffic. We sometimes can meet cattles in the journey.
Make hay while the sun shines is the proverb I think of, when I take photos of hay.

In about ninety minutes cycling, it is our target destination - The
Red Grassland. It is in fact not too large in area, it is managed by the
local government. Therefore each tourist has to buy a ticket.
