People's
Commune Restaurant (人民公社食堂) is inside Su Jia Wei Hakka Village (蘇家圍客家村)
http://sjw.hydjhl.cn/index.asp. Normally visitors would have lunch
here. People's Commune Restaurant can serve a hundred patrons
at the same time. The whole restaurant is decorated with history and
pictures of Great Leap Forward (大躍進) and People's Commune (人民公社). It
should be a nice experience to dine in such environment. Basically
People's Commune Restaurant has not been renovated with modern style. Instead, it tries to maintain its
original status. Its outlook also matches with the surrounding, this is
much appreciated.
In front of People's Commune Restaurant, there is a small pond.
Without the signage, it has no big difference from other houses in the village.
This is the main entrance. It is suggested to reserve everything in advance.
The dining hall. The dining table is an old-fashioned square table for
eight persons only. There is in fact a special name called "Eight
Immortals Table" (八仙桌).
All tables are of such square shape for eight persons. Pictures of Great Leap Forward and People's Commune are on the walls.
