Dapeng
Ancient City is the best historic relic in Shenzhen China, imho. It is
not too far away from Hong Kong. By bus from Kowloon Tong, it takes
about 2.5 hours to Nan Ao (南澳), then take another bus or taxi to Dapeng Ancient City. Size of Dapeng Ancient City is not very large as that of
Lijiang Ancient Town. One or two hours is enough. If you like this
place very much, you may spend one night here as hostels are available
for travellers.

Address of Dapeng Ancient City is Dapeng town, Longgang district, East Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, PRC.
Main Entrance
It is still kept in the original style and tone, though renovation is a must for such ancient city.
It is also the South Gate.
Dapeng Ancient City is not very large in area, it is not so large as
that of Lijiang Ancient City. But in Guangdong, southern China and a
place near Hong Kong, it is already a very nice scenic spot.
Street
The arch under the Main Entrance is also a place to rest.
Rock surfaces become flat.
This is like Nathan Road in Kowloon Hong Kong, it is in the centre of the ancient city and most shops cannot be found here.

The continuous renovation but the overall structure can still be kept is highly appreciated.

Tin Hau Temple
Eateries & Food
There are several restaurants and stores serving meals and snacks. But
we do not have sufficient time to stay in the ancient city, we do not
have any meal this time.

We
like this Dapeng Ancient City very much, in view of its location and
preservation. To spend one day for this nice place is suggested. It is a
good place for people in Hong Kong to relax and re-charge.
