Fried Clams with Egg. The clams are fresh enough (in fact the meat is
quite bouncy) and do not have odious smell. This is a very important
criterion in selecting seafood / river seafood in all places.
Fried Egg w/ Tomato is a safe dish whenever and wherever we order.
Braised Preserved Vegetable w/ Noodle (酸菜粉條) is a typical dish in China's Northeast. It is a sour refreshing dish.
Fried Bean Curd Sheet w/ Pork. The bean curd sheet has not yet been overcooked, and the texture is still chewy.
Noodle in Soup is unexpectedly al dente and we all finish this noodle.
Nai Gui is a restaurant with better lighting and more diners than those in the vicinity. We decide to have a try tonight.
These red lanterns in the street are to indicate that there is a
restaurant nearby (normally, they are erected in front of the
restaurant). This is quite common in China's Northeast.

In
the midst of our Journey from Dan Dong (in Liao Ning Province) to Ji'An
(in Ji Lin Province), we need to have our dinner in the evening, before
we finish the second half of our journey. In China's Northeast, the restaurant would normally be closed at 2000 or 2100.
Nai
Gui (NG) is restaurant with more diners and reasonably lit than those
in the vicinity. We are allotted to a room, and we inspect what we can
order in the kitchen thereafter. Though they have refrigerator, the
meats do not look fresh enough in our sense. We therefore resort to order more vegetables and also
request to cook with less oil, salt and msg. We order 5 dishes and
noodle in soup.
Before
long, they serve dishes one by one. We should be the last group of
diners tonight. Food portion is exceptionally big and price
exceptionally low. Together with the noodle in soup served to each of
us, we do have a good dinner. We have not ordered any cold dish, only hot dishes are ordered, for safety sake.
Even
though we have requested to cook with less oil, salt and msg, the
dishes are still comparatively oily, salty and with msg (food taste is
relatively strong in China's Northeast). This is quite common for
dine-out in the Mainland China. Overall comment is not bad, at least we have finished 70% of the foods served.
