'Dong
Po Tofu' is not a mixture of Dong Po pork and tofu, but in fact they
cook tofu by a lot of oil (or lard). This is not the kind of dish we
expect. Anyway it is a good try of country cuisine.
'Steamed Fish' is said to be one of the signature dishes in this
restaurant. The fish is fresh enough and the soya sauce is tasty. A pity
is that the fish meat texture is too loose. Overall rating is average
only.
'Soup of Tofu & Fish' is the best item in the meal. Fish meat is
still very tender. Small amount of msg should have been added, if any.
This is not beef, but 'Fried Fujian cake'. It has been slightly fried only. It is too sweet and is not delicious to us.
Beef is too tough and not tasty. If this is one of the signature dishes, it would be very strange to us.
Stir-fried Vegetable
Guang Ming Restaurant should be a restaurant with the best outlook in
the vicinity. Because of this reason, we decide to have our lunch here.

On
the way between two scenic spots, we have a short lunch in Xia Yang
Town (下洋鎮), which is only a small rural town. There are several
restaurants for our selection, we finally decide to dine in Guang Ming
Restaurant (GM ), mainly because of its better outlook.
We
are told that fish and beef are famous in GM, we therefore follow the
suggestions. We also order soup and vegetable. Average spending is about
RMB30, it should be a high spending to the locals. Needless to say, GM
also serves us Hakka cuisine. Food portion is not small, food taste is only average and
surely not outstanding. The chef still cooks foods with more than enough
amount of oil, this would be a headache to us (city dwellers in Hong
Kong ).
