'Pig Liver & Pig Brisket' should have been boiled only. No seasonings should have been added.
'Soup
of Pig Lung & Almonds' should be the signature item in Trusty
Gourmet. This is the only motive for us to visit. Each soup is served
with a small bowl of soy sauce, which is very yummy and would further
enhance the taste of pig lung. Soy sauce is from Pat Chun.
Soup
colour and texture are alright. It is the result of boiling food
materials for at least four hours. The taste is natural and the chance
of adding msg is very low (though the shop has mentioned no msg has been
added to all dishes). The
flavour of almonds is relatively strong and nice. Salted duck head and
neck should also be the food materials in this soup. This soup is
heavenly tasty and can be regarded as outstanding in quality and at a
very reasonable price. This should not be missed .
Sliced pig lung is quite large in size and good in quality. But the fried peanuts are overcooked.
Pig brisket is similar to beef brisket. It is soft enough and not tough. Flavour of pig is quite nice and strong.

The
only reason to visit Trusty Gourmet is to try its pig lung soup. We are
in fact not hungry. If we do not eat anything, it is still alright.
There are not too many patrons after dinnertime. We can select whichever
table we like . We of course order pig lung almond soup, together with a plate of pig stuffs (pig liver and pig brisket).
It
is claimed to have added no msg to the soup, it is in fact so. We can
try the natural and original taste of pig lung and almond. It is
definitely a delicious Chinese soup. Internal organs are not my
favourites, pig lung and pig
brisket are therefore not the food types I like very much, they are
anyway not bad and above average. We admit they are quality dish. There
are also quite a lot of items in the menu, we have not tried them this
time. We should try again one day, at least for the pig lung almond soup.
