Braised Small Fish in Chiu Chow Style is a right item to
order. Such cooking can highlight the merit of fish, i.e. fish freshness
can be further enhanced. No surplus msg has been added, there is no
trace of fishiness alike.
It is cooked with green onion, shredded
dried black mushroom, salted vegetable, Chinese Celery, preserved black
bean, and yellow bean sauce. This is an authentic Chiu Chow cooking
style.
Marinated Goose Meat is more generous in portion than we
expect. Taste is good and the marinated sauce is not too salty. Though
goose is not fresh, its texture is good and would not be too tendered.
This is much appreciated.
There are several pieces of tofu at the bottom.
Pan-fried
Noodle is served with white sugar and black vinegar. The noodle is
pan-fried to perfection, without surplus oil. It is hard on the upper
surface but still soft on the bottom.
Taro Dessert is served in
this white bowl only, it is priced at twenty dollars. The portion is
alright for equally sharing. The yellow stuff on the top is mashed
cashew.
It is a small restaurant, but it is not packed anyway.

Chef
is the soul of a restaurant, this is the eternal truth in dining. This
is further elaborated in Chiu Mei Kui, since it has a quality and
sophisticated chef. All servers are nice and polite, this is beyond our
expectation. The restaurant is small but not packed.
We order
three dishes and a dessert, all are of course specialties of Chiu Chow
cuisine. It takes time for each dish to be presented to us. We do not
have any disappointment in the meal. Instead we are pleased to have
selected Chiu Mei Kui. It is definitely much better than quite a lot of
other Chiu Chow restaurants. You are recommended to try authentic and
delectable Chiu Chow cuisine in Chiu Mei Kui.
