Black Fungus is mixed with wasabi, chicken soup and celery. It is a quality appetizer, we all like this dish.
Steamed
Crab Claw is one of the signature items in Golden Bauhinia. The white
stuff at the bottom is egg white. But this does not deserve to be the
signature item, it is very average only.
Smoked Chicken is nicely presented. The chicken is not fresh but chilled.
Mixed
Vegetables in Pumpkin Sauce is quite generous in portion. There is no
curry sauce in this dish. It is a healthy and delectable dish.
Fried
Vermicelli in Singaporean Style is not spicy at all but quite
palatable. It is fried with cha siu, shrimp, bean sprout and egg. A
point to highlight is that shrimps are of good quality and not those
chilled disgusting ones.
From the tablewares, Golden Bauhinia is
positioned to be a high end Chinese restaurant. It is anyway located on
the ground floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in
Wanchai.

We
long to have a patron in Golden Bauhinia. It is a medium size
restaurant. From its decoration and high ceiling, it should be presented
as a high end Chinese restaurant, in terms of pricing, service, dish
quality and food materials.
We have not ordered any dinner set,
but several a la cartes. All dishes are of average or above average
quality and taste, but the signature dish – crab is a bit disappointed.
It is charged at about one hundred, but the quality is not
correspondingly higher. It is at most very average only. Overall
speaking, the experience of dining in Golden Bauhinia is disappointing.
It is anyway a nice place for business and leisure meal.
