Bread is nicely served with Balsamic Vinegar and olive oil, but it is not hot enough.
Appetizer.
Shrimp and clam are mixed with vegetables. The taste is slightly sour,
it is therefore very refreshing. Shrimp and clam are definitely fresh,
this is much appreciated.
Risotto is not the main course, it is
served in small portion. Rice is al dente in texture and delicious. We
have not experienced any disappointment in Scala so far.
This is
the main course - Carbonara (there are four main courses to be selected
in the lunch set menu). Pasta is of course al dente. To be picky, the
sauce is a bit sweet, it is very slightly only. If not, it is a pasta of
high quality too.
Grilled Salmon w/ Potata & Asparagus is
not small in portion. The salmon is slightly browned on the surface, its
texture is still tender and juicy.
Chocolate Tart is relatively
small in size. But in a meal set, this is already good enough. Chocolate
is creamy and this is a dessert of very high quality.
Panna Cotta is served in a glass. Small is good. The portion is small enough to leave a good memory.

Most tablewares are made by Wedgwood, which is a very famous
manufacturer of porcelain. Wedgwood has more than 250 years history in
England. It is now owned by a private company in New York. For a
spending of about three hundred, with such food quality, ambiance and
most foods served on Wedgwood, it is already a meal with flying colours.

We
are pleased to dine here again this afternoon. There are not too many
patrons in the afternoon. Totally there are about ten patrons only
(including us). Since the restaurant is not large and the ceiling is not
high, a rather leisure and quiet ambiance is still available.
There
are four options in the menu for lunch sets. You must be able to select
your favorites. The main courses include lamb, fish, beef and pasta. As
before, service is very good and professional. Hot stuffs must be
served on hot plates. Needless to say, all foods are cooked with heart
and five star hotel standard, in terms of food material and taste. For a
lunch set of about three hundred dollars, this should be one of the
best choices in Wanchai. If time allows, you are recommended to try this
quality and value for money meal set.
