Smoked Egg is always good in quality in Snow Garden – such
Shanghai restaurant with long history and prestige in Hong Kong (this
is not to imply smoked egg is always good in quality in other Shanghai
restuarants). More than 95% of egg yolk is still not in a solidified
state, this is very important.
Fried Fish Fillet in Sweet &
Sour Sauce $150 is a quality dish. Fish fillet (totally there are 12
pieces) is fresh; there is no fishiness even though we finish the last
piece at the end of our meal. The sauce with onion and tomato is
refreshing and healthy. Hope you enjoy the same quality dish in your
next visit.
Home Style Tofu $70 is well-balanced in taste. Tofu slices are fresh and do not have a sour taste.
Sesame & Onion Pancake $50 is average and not oily, its quality is not so high as that of other dishes in the meal.

Snow
Garden is a restaurant serving high quality Shanghai cuisine, in terms
of food taste and materials. Pricing is a bit higher. If you want to try
tasty Shanghai foods, 20% higher in price is accepted and still value
for money.
When we visit Snow Garden (SG) tonight, it gives us an
impression that it is not a normal Chinese restaurant in the street.
Its diners are better in appearance and should be those with higher
income. SG should have quite a lot of frequent diners in our
observation. Servers are polite and good in manner.
SG is not a
very big restaurant; distance among tables is quite short. We can hear
the family discussion in the table adjacent to us (another reason is
they speak in high volume). We are allotted to a table for 2, and order 4
dishes; the bill is $370 (average per head $185). Though the spending
is a bit high (in view of a causal dinner), its food quality is
commensurately higher . Fresh and high quality food materials are used.
The 'fried fish fillet in sweet & sour sauce' particularly impresses
us. The dinner is value for money. The chefs should be praised, as they
are too important to our meal.
