Pan-fried Baby Oyster Cake is nicely stacked, taste is well-balanced. Just from the above photo and in reality, it is not oily. As usual, this is much appreciated.
Deep-fried Tofu Roll is another companion of beer. It is fried with care and heart. We do not notice there is any trace of oil on the surface of tofu and the plate. It is cripsy.
It is in fact wrapping a mixture of tofu, dried shrimps, shrimp paste and shredded water chestnut and seasonings by beancurd sheet. The taste is not concentrated but light. A small plate of Fish Sauce is served separately as dipping condiment. Fyi, the tofu is cut by chopsticks.
We forget to take photo of beer and this is borrowed from another Chiu Chow restaurant in Kowloon City. To eat two deep-fried dishes, drinking beer is a must to neutralize the excessive internal heat.
Cold Fish Jelly is similar to jelly dessert of Robertson, but its taste is not sweet but slightly salty. But we can still taste the freshness of fish, fish sauce is also served separately. Cooking method is similar to that of Cold Jelly of Pig Leg. This dish is only available in winter time. In summer, it is quite difficult to solidify.

We always want to order dishes which we have not tried before in Shun Kee. There are in fact many other dishes in the menu. Our targets this time are two deep-fried stuffs, we therefore need to order beer to neutralize the excessive internal heat. As usual, dishes ordered are of Chiu Chow taste and originality, we are pleased to have tried in Hong Kong. Of course, we would visit again later.
