Steamed Glutinous Rice with Crab in Garlic Paste. Glutinous rice is placed on a lotus leave. The rice (which is not oily) absorbs the flavor of garlic, crab and Chinese preserved sausage.
This is quite a common dish in a lot of Chinese restaurants, but not all such item is tasty and not oily. It is suggested to order in Tak Lung.

Deep Fried Eggplant with Minced Pork.
The minced pork is cooked with mushroom and dried shrimp, resulting that the overall flavor is very alluring. When this dish is served to us, we can sense it in the air.

Deep Fried Shrimp Toast
The shrimp is not fresh. No matter how good the cooking skill is, it is not a tasty dish. But the shrimp in the same dish in Mongkok Fung Shing Restaurant 旺角鳳城酒家 is surely fresh and much more palatable. Its price in Fung Shing is 20% higher.

Smoked Chicken (Half bird). Basically, the chicken meat is fresh, tender and with special flavor of smoke. It is deserved to be the signature dish in TL.

Cha Siu & Roasted Goose (Standard) is ordered again. But the cha siu is not so tasty as before, mainly because the meat texture is not good.


Ox Tail in Curry Sauce (served with garlic bread in photo below) comes with carrot and potato as well. There are many pieces of ox tail. Curry sauce is tasty as well, which we call it Guangdong Curry Sauce.
 

Deep Fried Shrimp and Pumpkin in Secret Sauce.
The basket is made from Ube. The secret sauce may be Worchester sauce. The shrimps are not fresh enough, and should be frozen item. My experience of dining-out is that unless the shrimps are freshly steamed, it is not suggested to order dishes with shrimp as one of the ingredients.

Vegetable in Fish Soup is recommended by the waitress. The white-colored soup is boiled from a lot of fish in water for a long time. It is not a good looking but is a memorable tasty dish.

Further to last visit, we march with 6 persons to Tak Lung (TL) this time, for the sake of trying all its signature dishes. With no disappointment, the dishes are still palatable. Overall quality is maintained at high level. We order totally 8 dishes. The bill is $656 (average per head $110). It is surely a value-for-money dinner.
 
TL is anyway an old-fashioned restaurant of more than 40 years history. It is suggested not to use the toilet, for fear that the overall good impression would be alleviated. To be a restaurant of traditional Guangdong cuisine, it passes with flying colors.
