Exact location
The
water of Sha Chau and Lung Kwu Chau Marine Park is influenced by the
discharge from the Pearl River, resulted in low salinity seawater but
high organic nutrient levels.
It
also enhances the diversity of marine fauna and flora, and provides an
essential nursery grounds for many coastal and oceanic fish and
shellfish species. Sha Chau and Lung Kwu Chau Marine Parks is well-known
for rich in fisheries resources and also important habitats for Chinese White Dolphin.

The pier at Sha Chau
Though it is called The Sha
Chau and Lung Kwu Chau Marine Park, we spend a large portion of time at
Sha Chau. Rocks of different shape and Tombolo are the scenic spots to
see at Sha chau. We also visit a Tin Hau Temple at Sha Chau, it is still
kept at very good condition, after renovation.
We are lucky that it is low tide during our visit, we can see more rocks.
A mother or Guanyin?
A foot?
Zipper rock
Mushroom?
Lizard?
This and the following three photos are taken on the way to the radar station of Sha Chau.
Tin Hau Temple at Sha Chau
The temple was recorded to be built in 1846.
It should be rebuilt in 1998.
We
are lucky and happy to have visited this marine park. We do not expect
to see anything beforehand, what we would like to do is to experience in
these two remote small uninhabited islands. We are pleased to see the
rocks of different shape and of course the tombolo in Sha Chau. In this
connection, we have to thank for the omnipotent power of the creator. It
is worthwhile to spend a day to visit this marine park. Please note if
you visit when it is not low tide, quite a lot of rocks will be covered
by seawater, the utility of your experience will be alleviated.
