Shing Hing Loong Grocery was founded on 28 April 1976. It has a history of 39 years in 2015.
It is on the ground floor of a seven-storey old building, which was constructed in 1958. The building is 57 years old.
It is a traditional grocery in Hong Kong, selling rice, edible oil, seasonings, canned food, egg and other dried food materials.
Rice is traditionally displayed in these wooden containers.
Please note the rattan basket, which should be a money basket in the past. On the string hanging the basket, it was written "恭喜發財，龍馬精神，生意興隆".
This old weighting machine is not commonly available in Hong Kong.
Canned food and bottled wine are orderly displayed on shelves. Many red banners can also be seen.
On the shelves are seasonings, the red and black stuffs are dried watermelon seeds for Chinese New Year.
Shing Hing Loong is definitely one of the remnants in grocery field in Hong Kong. It is heartening that the traditional appearance of a grocery store can still be kept and seen in 2015. It is needed to thank for their persistence and effort in the maintenance of Shing Hing Loong, and the kindness to serve the people in Prince Edward and Shamshuipo.
