Man Fat Nunnery is guarded by a metallic gate. Inside the gate, it is its private area.

There were about five temples in Ngau Chi Wan long time ago. Because of different reasons and in the course of time, the locations of some temples have been sold, leaving the last one - Man Fat Nunnery, which is still in operation. Man Fat Nunnery was established in 1915, it is 99 years old in 2014.

The nunnery is not open to the public. Since Man Fat Nunnery is hidden in trees and surrounding houses, it is not commonly known that there is an old nunnery in Ngau Chi Wan.

Man Fat Nunnery is still in service now. It is managed by an oldie of about ninety.
Ngau Chi Wan was a rural area in the past. The reason of establishing Man Fat Temple in Ngau Chi Wan is that it is located at the main road to Sai Kung. In its glorious period, there were about fifty to sixty followers. They chanted and burnt incense everyday at that time. After the Second World War, the number of followers dropped sharply. The current person-in-charge is old and cannot afford to open the temple to the public.

The address is 'No. 99 Ngau Chi Wan West Village'.

Next to Man Fat Nunnery, there is a cement entrance construction called Silent Room '靜室', which is guarded by wire netting. It looks very shabby and worn. It should have been idle for a long time.

Man Fat Nunnery is not far away from MTR Choi Hung Station Exit C2. It is very close to Fortune Garden (怡發大廈).
