Canton Building is of course located in Canton Road. It is at the junction of Canton Road and Bute Street (弼街). But the name of this building is translated differently in Chinese. Canton Building was erected in 1962, it is 52 years old in 2014.
Ying Wah Store is a snack shop on the ground floor of Canton Building. It is very small in size, it should be about 30 square feet, retailing snacks, soft drinks, cigarette and stationery. There is an old lady shopkeeper in the shop. This baby store should have been in operation for more than 50 years, with similar age with that of Canton Building. This store will no longer be commonly found in Hong Kong, because of urban re-development and general high rental. Most of them have been replaced by convenience stores and forced to close because the shop owners are too old. Such snack shop should be memorable in the history of Hong Kong.
