In the hiking from Tung Chung to Tai O, there are many villages of different size, most houses are vacant or for purpose of vacation. It is found that there are many iron gates of different sizes, design, colour, material, complexity and shapes. It is fun to take photos of them. Each gate should mean it is the main entrance of the respective house. Most gates have left and right wings, between two supporting pillars.
This should be the champion, in terms of design and colour combination.

But the iron gates are not too artistic in pattern. Most of them do not have any patterns on the gates. This may be called the classical pattern or Lantau style.
The entrance lamp is very artistic.
From the structure of entrance gates in this above, they should not be used for the purpose of defense. It is just to inform that it is the start of an occupancy. Besides, in the past, law and order is very good, relation of neighbourhood is good, to defense again robbery should not be the main purpose of entrance gate.
