This gate was declared a Grade III Historical Construction on 31 August 2010. It was constructed in 1880.
In my speculation, the village office should have only little function now. Everything can be done in the internet and by phone. It seems that the office has been idle for a period. But its appearance is still kept in good condition.
Next to the village office, there is a three-storey new construction.
It should be built in 1988.
There are some decorations on both sides of the canopy.
It should be painted not long before, presumably before Chinese New Year (CNY) in 2013.
By New Lantau Bus, route number 34 goes direct to Shek Mun Kap from Tung Chung. Besides, route numbers 11, 23, 3M, A31, N35 bypass Shek Mun Kap.
