Peng Chau Tin Hau Parade 坪洲禡行鄉
On the twenty-first day of the seventh month in the Chinese calendar, it is the Tin Hau Parade in Peng Chau. On 20 August 2011, Tin Hau Buddha moves out of the temple, travels around different areas in Peng Chau and goes back to the temple. This parade is to bring luck and health to dwellers on the island. This is a very crucial festival in Peng Chau.
It is not like the Bun Festival in Cheung Chau, where too many visitors and tourists are attracted. In Peng Chau, this festival is not so popular and not too many visitors are attracted. The construction with dark green roof is the Tin Hau Temple.
Those who attend can have a closer interaction with everything in the festival. This is the main difference from the Bun Festival in Cheung Chau.
Tin Hau Statue in fact is not too large in size, it is carried by a rickshaw.
They are dancing in front of Tin Hau Temple.
It is shot into the sky by paper pistols.
The Parade starts to walk around the island and to bring luck and health to all dwellers in Peng Chau.
