Dragon's Back is declared by Time Magazine to be the best Urban Hike in Asia (22 Noveber 2004 Asia Issue). It is really very close to urban area. At the same time, the natural scenery is fascinating and impressive. To join tour organized by Hong Kong Tourism Board, such 4 hours hiking costs four hundred and fifty Hong Kong dollars (including transport and tour guide, no lunch is included).
The name speaks for itself. The trail is in fact very much like hiking on the back of dragon.
Our start is also To Tei Wan, the finish is Big Wave Bay. The whole hiking journey takes about 3 to 4 hours.
The trail is not too difficult. You have no problem to walk on such steps.
Child can also master the trail with ease.
This is Tai Tam Harbour. The building cluster on the left is Redhill Peninsula.
Hills on Hong Kong Island are not too high.
This is the best location to take photo of Shek O Village and Shek O beach.
In the middle, it is our finish - Big Wave Bay Beach.
On the way down to Big Wave Bay Beach, we can see Shek O Village from its left.
Big Wave Bay Beach is like a Utopia, and does not belong to Hong Kong.
The beach is nearly flat, it is a seashore with its own personality.
