Po Toi Island (or Po Toi) is at the southern part of Hong Kong. It is a small island famous for its rocks of unusual shape, like Coffin Rock and Palm Cliff. It is a remote island and there is still no official supply of water and electricity.
We visit this time not in the usual way. We do not get off the boat by means of pier, we do not have seafood lunch and trail walk. We climb up the rocks by hands, eat bread and biscuit. This is really an extraordinary one day trip. But if you are not a traveller for adventure or not proficient in rock-climbing, it is suggested to join family tour.
All participants have to get off the big boat and get on the small boat. If the sea condition or weather is not good, it becomes more difficult and dangerous.
After getting off the small boat, everybody has to climb up the rock. Special clothing, shoes and accessories are suggested.
This is a big natural funnel. I guess it may have 10 storeys in depth.
They should be discussing what they have found in the small pond. I guess it should be sea-urchin. Sometimes, special creatures can also be found.
We have not followed the usual trail to see the special and famous rocks. To me, this rock is already quite special.
Please note the difference in colour. This special rock layer is continuous on this part of Po Toi.
A breath-taking view of South China Sea.
This is also a busy channel.
We leave Po Toi by the same means. It is an adventurous, memorable and valuable day trip.
Po Toi is at the south of Hong Kong.
