Fan Leng Lau (粉嶺樓) is a village in Fanling, the north district of the New Territories of Hong Kong.

Pang Kwei (彭桂) was the founding ancestor of the Pang (彭) Clan who went to Lung Shan (龍山), now known as Lung Yeuk Tau in Fanling from Dongguan, Guangzhou in mainland China in 1190. He then moved to Fan Leng Lau in 1220 and established a village there. As the population of the clan increased, they moved westward to settle in Fanling Wai and other places. Source: Wikipedia

This is No. 4 Fan Leng lau. It is an old Hakka house of green bricks. It is still in very good condition.

This No. 4 Fan Leng Lau is still inhabited. In front of the house, there is a large open area.

Because it is still inhabited and has regular renovations, the house structure is quite good. For houses without inhabitants, they will collapse and demage in the course of time.

The doors are open, new couplets are stuck onto the wall and doors.

We have taken several photos inside the house. It is a typical Hakka house, with a small courtyard in the middle.

The scultpture on wall can still be legible, reflecting that the house owner should be quite rich at that time.

No. 4 Fan Leng lau, Fanling.
