How much protein do adults need per day?
Source 1: The recommended daily amount of protein for an average healthy adult is 1.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. Taking an adult weighing 60 kilograms as an example, the amount of protein required per day is 60 grams.
Source 2: Most of the recommended protein intake is calculated based on body weight. The amount of protein that meets the minimum daily requirement is approximately 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. That is
A 50 kg person should eat at least 50*0.8 equal to 40 grams of protein every day.
A 60 kg person should eat at least 60*0.8 equal to 48 grams of protein every day.
A 70kg person should eat at least 56g;
A 80kg person should eat at least 64g.

The daily protein intake standard for a 40-year-old healthy adult who weighs 60 kilograms is 60 × 1.1 grams = 66 grams.
The daily protein intake standard for a 75-year-old healthy elderly person who weighs 60 kilograms is 60 × 1.2 grams = 72 grams.
The three sources are all similar. It's about the same amount of protein as 8 eggs.
