In the past, without Internet, it should be easier for an eatery to operate and survive.
Now, if the food is not tasty, it will be posted on the Internet immediately, and there is nowhere for the eatery to hide.
In the past, only the diners knew that the food was not delicious, and at most, they told their colleagues and friends.
But now, if the food is not tasty, it is posted online and shared, the restaurant will be scolded or blacklisted immediately. In this connection, no remedy will be useful any more.

Of course, with the Internet, hired thugs (hired writers) appear. They earn money to write good comments for restaurants. The eatery/restaurant can still get some customers who don't know anything about it.
Sometimes, looking at food reviews, you can tell whether the article is written by hired thugs or by an ordinary customer.
Some restaurants use several different names on food review website, and write different records or articles, but the photos are all the same, and the shooting angles and photo effects are similar. Of course they don't know, but anyone with a discerning eye can distinguish it.
